I AM MORE TIRED THAN MY CAT

THE EXHIBITION.

I Am More Tired Than My Cat is an exhibition consisting of
35 monotypes, five print editions, a selection of small original
drawings, and original oil and acrylic paintings.

The works move between printmaking, painting and drawing, creating an
exhibition that feels less like a collection of finished images and
more like an evolving visual state. Some works are built through
multiple rounds of painting and printing, with each layer altering,
obscuring and reshaping what came before.

The exhibition takes place on 30 May at Vacant Editions’ studio, Gjerdrums vei 14, Nydalen, Oslo.

WHAT ARE WE DOING?

Technically, the work exists somewhere between painting, printmaking
and digital reproduction. Óskar combines different painting media, paper
and water-based digital printing ink to create layered and often
unpredictable surfaces.

The imagery is sampled from previous paintings, drawings and written
works by the artist, then dismantled and redesigned into new, complex
compositions. These compositions are printed onto original artworks on
paper, giving both the painting and the printed image a new conceptual
and aesthetic form.

The works are often created through several cycles of painting and
printing. Each layer builds upon, interrupts or partially destroys the
previous one.

The process becomes part of the image.

Nothing is entirely finished. Nothing is entirely erased.

I AM MORE TIRED THAN MY CAT

The exhibition is about mental noise, sleeplessness, emotional overload and the absurd reality of being human.

The works drift between collapse and comedy – restless paintings and
prints filled with tension, grime, vulnerability and small moments of
accidental humour.

There is exhaustion, but also play.

Discomfort, but also tenderness.

Chaos, but also an attempt to make sense of it.

The title I Am More Tired Than My Cat captures something of this
